Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Swimming team, where she competes in the sprint and freestyle (50-yard, 100-yard and 200-yard)...Graduated with eight school records (three individual and five relay) and four individual SCIAC titles (two 100 free, two 200 free)...Holds school marks in the 50 free (24.05), the 100 free (51.74) and the 200 free (1:52.69)...Part of school record relay teams in the 200 free (1:36.91), 400 free (3:30.85), the 800 free (7:37.25), the 200 medley (1:46.67) and the 400 medley (3:53.38)...Former member of the Pomona-Pitzer Water Polo team, which won the 2012 SCIAC Championship.

2013-14: All-American (honorable mention) in 400 and 800-yard freestyle relays...CSCAA Scholar All-America first-team selection...All SCIAC in seven events...SCIAC Champion in 100 free and 800-free relay...SCIAC All-Academic Team...Pomona-Pitzer Female Scholar Athlete of the Year...Qualified for nationals in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a SCIAC Championship...Earned All-America status at nationals with school record times in both the 400 free relay (3:30.85) and the 800 free relay (7:37.25)...Won the SCIAC title in the 100 free with a time of 52.05, her second league championship in that event...Finished second in the 200 free by .01 with a time of 1:53.73, denying her a three-peat...Was fifth in the 50 free with a time of 24.26...Swam in the 200 free relay (1:36.91), the 400 free relay (3:31.88), the 800 free relay and the 400 medley relay (3:55.17) to help the Sagehens to All-SCIAC finishes...Came from a body length behind to win her final swim at Haldeman Pool (the anchor leg of the 400-yard free relay against CMS).  

2012-13: All-SCIAC in the freestyle...SCIAC All-Academic team selection...Participated in seven events at the 2013 SCIAC Championships, earning three first place and four second place finishes...Set school records in all seven events, despite missing the fall semester of training to study abroad...Repeated as the SCIAC Champion in the 200 free (1:52.69), a new school record time...Came into the SCIACs with a fast time of 1:58.29 during the regular season, finished fifth in prelims with a 1:56.13, and then chopped four seconds off that time to win the finals by a margin of 1.51 seconds...Broke her own school record in the 100 free (51.79) earning a second-place finish...Added a school mark in the 50 free with a 24.05, coming in second place...Swam in four relays (three as an anchor) and set school records in all four...Earned SCIAC relay titles in the 800 free (1:46.67) and the 200 medley (1:46.67) in Pomona-Pitzer record time...Also set school records in second place finishes in the 400 medley (3:53.72) and the 400 free (3:32.86).

2011-12: All-SCIAC selection...Won SCIAC championships in both the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events, winning the two races by a combined nine-hundredths of a second, coming from behind to win both...Earned the 200-yard championship in 1:54.27, winning by .04 after rallying from behind on the final few strokes...Came back the next day to earn the SCIAC Championship in the 100 free in a school-record 52.21, again coming from behind to win by just .05...Qualified for the finals in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in seventh...Went undefeated during the regular season and SCIAC Championships in both the 100 and the 200 against Division III competitions...Didn't lose a 200 free event all year, while her only losses in the 100 came to two swimmers from Grand Canyon (Ariz.) of the NAIA at the Redlands Invitational in October.

2010-11: Helped contribute to two school records in swimming in in relay events - the 200-yard freestyle (1:38.70) and the 400-yard freestyle (3:35.74). Earned the second fastest time in school history in the 50-yard freestyle (24.43).

High School: Attended Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto, where she competed for the Titans swimming and water polo teams...Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in biology...Doing her thesis on "The effects of light pollution on aggression levels in Tiger Salamanders (Ambystoma tigrinum)".
