Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her second season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Swimming and Diving team, where she competes primarily in the 200 back and the 400 IM events…Ranks second in school history in the 200 back (2:05.68), fourth in the 400 IM (4:35.41) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:10.56).

2015-16: SCIAC All-Academic team.

2014-15: SCIAC All-Academic team...Earned a fifth place finish in the 400 IM at the SCIAC Championships with a 4:37.48...Also came in sixth in the 200 back with a 2:07.85...Finished 11th in the 200 IM with a 2:12.28, placing her second in the consolation heat (behind teammate Gailyn Portelance).

2013-14: All-SCIAC in the 200 back and 400 IM...CSCAA Scholar All-America team honorable mention...Earned a third-place finish in the SCIAC Championships in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.90...Swam a 2:05.68 in prelims which set a school record at the time (before it was broken by teammate Mia Hahn in the finals)...Earned a third-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:35.41, moving her into fourth in school history in that event.

High School: Attended Mercer Island High School in Washington, which she helped to four straight state championships from 2009-2012…As a senior, helped the Islanders swim the entire season undefeated…Class salutatorian and a National Honor Society member…Also competed for the Olympic Cascade Aquatics Club Team.

Personal: Attends Pomona College, where she majors in molecular biology with minors in computer science and Spanish...Lists "End of Empire: Crafting Identity In 20th Century Spanish Literature" as the most interesting course she has taken at Pomona...Has two younger twin brothers…Lists Missy Franklin and Jason Lezak as her favorite athletes…Favorite books are The Princess Bride and the Grapes of Wrath, and favorite movie is Finding Nemo… Through Global Visionaries, she did community service in the Seattle area and then took a two-week service/immersion trip to San Miguel Escobar (a small village outside Antigua) Guatemala. The trip focused on reforestation, constructing a new community center, and spending time with patients in a hospital...Is a sponsor in B1B at Pomona.
