At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed his senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swimming and Diving team, where he competes in the mid-distance freestyle...SCIAC All-Academic team selection...High School: Attended Mercer Island (Wash.) High School, where he swam at the Washington State Swimming and Diving Championships as a senior, coming in 15th in the 100-yard freestyle and 16th in the 200-yard freestyle...Helped the Islanders win the team title for the fifth season in a row and finish the year undefeated...Also finished 16th in the 100-yard freestyle in the state championships as a junior, when the team also finished the season undefeated (except for in travel invite meets)...Class valedictorian with 4.0 GPA and a National Merit Commended Scholar...Also competed for the Chinook Aquatic Club...Personal: Attending Pomona College, where he majors in applied mathematics, with a specific interest in statistics...Lists "Statistical Theory" and "Mathematical Modeling" as the most interesting courses he has taken at Pomona...Has one sister, Christina (Pomona '17), who is a freshman on the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Swimming and Diving team in 2013-14...Favorite movies include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Memento, Saving Private Ryan and Braveheart...Worked in the summer (2013) at an internship creating methods for analyzing the effects of drugs on cells, to be used in cancer research...Is applying to graduate programs in statistics.
