At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed his senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Swimming and Diving team, where he competed in the freestyle...Holds three school records in relays in the 200 free, 400 free and 200 medley...Graduated ranking third in school history in the 50 free (20.94), fifth in the 100 free (46.92), fifth in the 100 breast (59.09) and tenth in the 100 back (54.35).
2014-15: All-SCIAC in three relays...SCIAC All-Academic team...CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American...Helped set school records at the SCIAC Championships in the 200 free (1:22.60), 400 free (3:04.38) and 200 medley (1:31.40) relays...Finished eighth in the 50 free at SCIACs with a 21.10, just .01 off his personal best...Finished 12th in the 100 breast with a 59.09, moving him into fourth in school history...Swam a 47.00 in the 100 free in prelims, before finishing 17th.
2013-14: All-SCIAC in four relays...CSCAA Scholar All-America team honorable mention...Swam the anchor leg of four Sagehen relay teams at SCIAC Championships which all set school records...The 200 freestyle relay team (1:24.39) and the 200 medley relay (1:32.46) both finished second at SCIACs, while the 400 freestyle (3:06.70) and the 400 medley (3:24.83) both set school marks in third-place finishes...Earned a sixth place finish in the 50 freestyle at SCIACs with a 21.11...Came in 12th in the 100-yard freestyle at SCIACs, missing the finals by just .03 with a 47.22 in prelims.
2012-13: Qualified for the SCIAC finals in three individual events (50 free, 100 free, 100 back)...Swam the backstroke leg of the 200 medley relay team which set a Sagehen record with a 1:34.69, finishing fourth...Clocked a 21.09 in the 50 free to come in fifth place, the third-fastest time in program history...Came in eighth in the 100 free, earning a top time of 46.92, which also ranks third at Pomona-Pitzer...Also came in eighth in the 100 back with a top time of 54.35, which ranks fifth in Sagehen annals.
2011-12: Had an immediate impact, particularly in the freestyle events, for the Sagehens in his freshman year...Helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team set a Haldeman Pool record in its home finale against La Verne...Part of a 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished second at the SCIAC Championships (1:24.82)...Qualified for the finals in the 50-yard freestyle at the SCIAC's and came in fourth with a time of 21.35, which also ranks fourth in program history...Swam the breaststroke in medley relay events.
High School: Attended Mesquite High School in Gilbert, Arizona, where he competed on the swimming and water polo teams...Was captain of the swim team, as well as the MVP in 2009, 2010 and 2011...All-American Considerate in the 4x50 Free Relay...Was president of the Ecology Club and the German Honors Society...Vice President of NHS...Earned Top 10% in Math in Arizona Award...Competed for the Mesa Aquatics Club (MAC), where he holds the 4x50 sectional record.
Personal: Attending Pomona College, where he majors in media studies...Lists "Philosophy in Literature" as the most interesting course he has taken while at Pomona...Has one sister, who graduated from Scripps...Favorite athlete is Larry Fitzgerald...Favorite book is The Kite Runner...Favorite movies are Chariots Of Fire and 500 Days of Summer...Has volunteered at Paz De Cristo's Soup Kitchen since he was seven...Interned in Shenzhen, China in the summer of 2013 and spent the fall semester in 2013 studying abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland...Led a dozen 14-16 year olds on an 800 mile bike trip down the coast of California this past summer (2014)...Chose Pomona because "the people and the weather were the biggest deciding factors for me. The people here are all just so chill and nice. It’s not a hardcore/stressed atmosphere, but more of a relaxed, get work done yet still have a good time once you’re done type of lifestyle. This is the best place on earth."
