Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team saw their 2023 season come to an end after a 5-0 loss to Redlands and a 4-1 loss to Chapman in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. The Sagehens struggled offensively against the Bulldogs, recording just three hits to Redlands 11 while turning things around against the Panthers with six hits to Chapman's seven.

The Sagehens had a dangerous opportunity to score first in the top of the first inning, loading the bases with a single from Devin Waddell along with Amanda Robman reaching on fielder's choice and Camille Creighton getting hit by a pitch. The Bulldogs worked out of the inning, getting their second out at the plate before forcing a ground out to end the inning. The Bulldogs scored in the bottom of the first with an RBI single through the left side to take a 1-0 lead. Pomona-Pitzer couldn't get an attack going while the Bulldogs scored on a two-RBI single, an RBI double, and an RBI walk to cap off a 5-0 victory over the Sagehens.

The Panthers and Sagehens played a fast 4-1 game with neither team scoring until the seventh inning. Devin Waddell pitched a full game for the Sagehens, recording two strikeouts on the day while keeping the Panthers off the board for six innings.
Chapman put the pressure on in the seventh inning after a two-RBI single to right followed by a two-RBI single to left, taking a late 4-0 run. The Sagehens responded in the seventh with an RBI groundout from Amanda Robman to cut the lead to 4-1. The Sagehens had bases loaded with two outs but a groundout to the short stop ended the game 4-1 in favor of the Panthers.
