Box Score 2 THOUSAND OAKS, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team completed the three game sweep over the Cal Lutheran Regals on Saturday. With the wins, the Sagehens are now 16-10 on the year and 7-2 in the conference. Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Friday, Apr. 14 when they host Chapman at 3:00 p.m.
Pomona-Pitzer 5, Cal Lutheran 4
Cal Lutheran scored first in game one, using an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Sagehens responded in the top of the third after Lauren Ziment earned an RBI walk to tie the game at 1-1 in a bases loaded situation. The Regals hit two RBI doubles in the fourth inning to regain the lead at 3-1 and added one more in the fifth inning to take the lead at 4-1. The Sagehens responded in the sixth inning with Addie Wasikonis starting things off with a double followed by a single from Shelby Hawkes, advancing Wasikonis to third. Bella Carreon recorded an RBI sacrifice fly to bring in Wasikonis. The Sagehens then had Kylie Liu hit a single and advance Hawkes to third before an RBI single up the middle from Amanda Robman scored Hawkes. Camille Creighton later hit a two-RBI single down the right field line to bring in Lie and Robman, putting the Sagehens on top 5-4. Emma Holt pitched four innings with Kailey Newkirk coming in relief, pitching 2.2 innings allowing zero hits and zero runs with one strikeout to secure the Sagehens 5-4 win in game one.

The Sagehens went hitless through the first three innings of game two with the Regals recording a hit in both the second and third inning. Amanda Robman recorded the team's first hit of the second game in the fourth inning with a single down the left field line but was left stranded. Cal Lutheran recorded two hits in the fourth but also left the runners stranded, keeping the game at 0-0 heading into the fifth inning. The Sagehens started the fifth with a single from Addie Wasikonis who later advanced to second after a sac bunt from Lauren Ziment. Merrill Simonsen came in to pinch hit and hit their first career hit with an RBI single to right center to bring in Wasikonis, giving Pomona-Pitzer a 1-0 lead. The Sagehens struck again in the sixth inning after Wasikonis reached on a fielder's choice ball that resulted in Kylie Liu crossing home plate to put the Sagehens up 2-0. The Regals recorded one hit in the bottom of the seventh but couldn't get anything going as the Sagehens completed the three-game sweep.
