Sagehens Shine at PP Invite on Saturday

CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field team performed well in their home PP Invite on Saturday. The Sagehens will be back in action Apr. 13-15 as they compete at the Mt. Sac Relays, Bryan Clay Invite, and a multi dual at Occidental College. 

In the 100m, Ayodele Cole took 20th with a time of 11.10 seconds while Kirby Lam took 23rd with a time of 11.20 seconds. Harrison Brown also showed well for the Sagehens in the event, crossing the finish line in 11.40 seconds. Nathaniel Getachew led the way for Pomona-Pitzer in the 1500m, finishing in sixth place with a time of 3:53.56. Jayan Nitzsche, Evan Villano, and Cameron Hatler all showed well in the 1500m, running 4:00.36, 4:01.87, and 4:02.02. In the 400m, Jake Hallesy took ninth overall with a time of 50.12 seconds while Sam Butler finished in 20th with a time of 51.94 seconds. The Sagehens dominated the 800m, taking the top three spots as Bennett Booth-Genthe, Oscar Roering, and Jack Rosencrans went 1, 2, 3, with times of 1:50.46, 1:50.96, and 1:51.19. Lucas Cunningham also performed well in the event with a time of 1:52.94. In the 200m, Ayodele Cole took 15th with a time of 22.22 seconds while Harrison Brown ran a 22.66. In the 3k steeplechase, Jack Stein took second with a time of 9:38.24 with Adam Dieck taking sixth in 9:51.96.

In the javelin, William Marquart threw 41.11m to take sixth place with Mohammed Ahmed taking ninth with a throw of 37.73m. Daniel Harrell showed well for the Sagehens in the discus with a 36.38m throw to take eighth with Marquart taking 12th with a 33.91m throw. In high jump, Erubey Lopez took 11th with a 1.65m clearance. Kirby Lam continued to perform well in the long jump, taking second after jumping 6.79m on his first attempt. Deen Amanat took 11th with a 5.80m jump. In the triple jump, Aiden Karpf took seventh with a jump of 12.62m with Erubey Lopez taking 10th with a 11.50m jump. Marquart took seventh in the shot put with a 13.43m throw with Adam Camargo taking 10th after throwing 12.79m. Ryan Aubrey also showed well in shot put with an 11.67m throw.
