CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer's men's track & field took fourth place at the SCIAC Quad Cup Final at CMS Saturday. The Sagehens scored 106 points to finish behind CMS (226), Chapman (128), and Occidental (106) in a regular season SCIAC competition featuring the top four teams in the conference.
Individually, senior Will Marquart continued his stellar season by winning the Shot Put in a personal record 56'1" improving on his #2 all-time mark in program history. Marquart also won the Discus with a mark of 148'10" and took second place in the Hammer in a personal best 158'11".
The Sagehens placed 1-2-4 in the 1500m, with sophomore
Jefferson Wright winning in 3:53.23 with a last lap surge, junior
Peter Neid taking second in 3:53.51, and senior
Jack Stein dropping down in distance to take fourth in a personal best 3:54.97.
Gavin Doig returned to action in a strong way, clocking 10.78 out of the third heat of the 100 meters to take third place. Sophomore
Nate Wehner's 9:35.01 in the steeplechase earned second place.
The Sagehens do not compete this coming weekend, but return to action on April 11 at the 38th Annual Pomona-Pitzer Track & Field Invite on Strehle Track.
