Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team split with the Williams College Ephs on Friday afternoon, winning game one 2-0 while falling 3-0 in a 10-inning second game. Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Friday, March 31 when they travel to Redlands at 12:00 p.m.

The Sagehens did all the needed to do offensively in the first inning of game one, scoring two runs off a Lauren Ziment RBI single to left field. Kylie Liu recorded a single to start the inning before Devin Waddell hit a double to left center, putting runners on second and third for the Sagehens. Lauren Ziment brought both runners home with a single to center, giving Pomona-Pitzer the early 2-0 lead. Devin Waddell pitched a full seven inning game, allowing just two hits while striking out four runners, holding the Ephs scoreless the entire way.
Pomona-Pitzer 0, Williams 3, 10 Innings
The second game as a battle of the pitchers with Sadie Leonard from Williams pitching a one-hit 10-inning game with 16 strikeouts. Erika Rivera pitched nine innings, allowing six hits and three runs while recording three strikeouts. The Sagehens had a big opportunity to start the game as they walked into a bases loaded situation with no outs but three-straight strikeouts kept Pomona-Pitzer off the board. After nine full scoreless innings, the Ephs broke through with a sac bunt followed by a two-run homer in the top of the tenth to take a 3-0 lead. The Sagehens suffered three more strikeouts in the bottom of the tenth, falling to Williams 3-0.
