It was a lobsided contest on the stat sheet as the Sagehens outshot the Tornados 31-2 and took five corners without surrendering a single one on defense. Pomona-Pitzer played a smothering style of soccer against the Tornados as they kept possession for the majority of the first half. It didn't take long for the Sagehens to get the offense going as Deutz played in Khu toward the box and a beautiful looping ball across goal pinged off the post and found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute of the match.
The Sagehens went on to double their lead in the 34th minute after a foul outside the box set up free-kick specialist Caitlyn Pham. Pham blasted a free kick well outside the box that tipped off the keeper's fingers and into the corner for the second goal of the match and sent the Sagehens into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Pomona-Pitzer kept that same energy in the second half and added two more goals before the final whistle. The Sagehens earned themselves a corner in the 55th minute that Deutz played in perfectly towards the center of the box and a one-time volley off the foot of Clements added the third goal of the day.
Khu finished off her brace with the final goal of the afternoon in the 63rd minute after Nitschke-Alonso hawked down the Concordia defender and stole the ball in the Sagehens' attacking third. Nitschke-Alonso then played a perfect low-cross into Khu who slotted it past the keeper to make it 4-0 Sagehens.
The Pomona-Pitzer defense was once again a solid unit that made life easy for the keepers' who saw just two shots total and just one shot on goal for their second shutout of the season.
