Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team defeated Cal Lutheran 6-1 in game one with 11 hits as a team. Lauren Ziment led the Sagehens in game one, going three for three at the plate while Taylor Lehner went two for three. Ziment had two hits and two RBIs in game two while Devi nWaddell and Julia Carreon each finished with three hits in game two.
Game One – Pomona-Pitzer 6, Cal Lutheran 1
The Sagehens struck first, scoring three runs in the first inning with a two-RBI double from Taylor Lehner and an RBI single through the right side from Hannah Brajkovich. The Sagehens added another run in the second inning with an RBI single from Lauren Ziment, giving Pomona-Pitzer an early 4-0 lead.
The Regals were able to snag a run in the top of the third after a fielding error on the Sagehens resulted in a run for Cal Lutheran. The Sagehens got back on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Julia Carreon ripped a double to right center that brought in Brajkovich. Brajkovich helped the Sagehens score once more in the bottom of the fifth with a sacrifice fly that brought home Lehner to make it 6-1. The Sagehens left two on base in the bottom of the sixth but flew through the seventh inning to earn the 6-1 victory in game one against the Regals.
Game Two - Pomona-Pitzer 10, Cal Lutheran 4
The Sagehens were the first on the board in game two, scoring in the bottom of the first with an RBI single to center from Devin Waddell that brought in Lauren Ziment. Ziment increased the Sagehens lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning with a two-RBI double through the left side, bringing in Shelby Hawkes and Julia Carreon.
The Regals fought back in the top of the third inning, scoring on a groundout and a Sagehen error to tie the game at 3-3. The Sagehens quickly responded as Katy Hurley drilled a two-run homerun over the left center wall to put the Sagehens back on top 5-3. Amanada Robman pushed the lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning with a single up the middle that brought Waddell home. Cal Lutheran was able to score once more in the sixth inning but Pomona-Pitzer fired right back. Katy Hurley hit a two-RBI single to make it 8-4 before Hannah Brajkovich sent one deep over the center field wall to cap off the sweep with two more runs and give the Sagehens a 10-4 victory over Cal Lutheran.

The Sagehens will travel to Chapman on Friday Apr. 8 at 3:00 p.m. before returning to Claremont on Apr. 9th to host a doubleheader against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
