Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – The Pomona-Pitzer Lacrosse team continued their dominance on the season with a 19-4 win over Colorado College on Saturday morning at Washburn Field.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improve to 4-0 on the year.
The Sagehens were led by Shoshi Henderson who netted five goals and three assists in the win. The Sagehens had two other hat-tricks as Fiona Lewis scored four and Sydney Landauer netted four as well in the win.
The Sagehens took some time to get the offense going with both teams playing some good defense to start the game. The Sagehens scored the first goal of the game from Landauer and Worthington and Lewis tacked on goals as well in the first to give the Sagehens a 3-0 lead.
Pomona-Pitzer blew the game open in the second quarter as they outscored Colorado College 8-1. The Sagehens continued to add goals as they scored the first four goals of the second and seven-straight to open the game to take a 7-0 lead. Henderson netted back-to-back goals to open the second with Landauer and Hannah Gough getting goals before the Tigers scored their first goal of the game to cut the lead down to 7-1. The Sagehens ended the first half with four more goal from Grace Warner, two from Henderson and Maggie Sweeney capped off the second quarter to give the Sagehens an 11-1 lead at halftime.
After taking a 10-goal lead into halftime, the Sagehens started the second half right where they left off and added three more as Lewis netted two for her hat-trick and Sweeney added her second to give Pomona-Pitzer a 14-1 lead. The Tigers and Sagehens exchanged goals to end the third with Worthington adding another to put the Sagehens up 15-3 heading into the fourth.
Henderson, Lewis and Landauer continued to score goals in the fourth with the Sagehens up a comfortable margin as Pomona-Pitzer continued to flex its muscles early in the 2022 season with all of their wins coming by at least eight goals.
