Box Score LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer women's lacrosse team continued their dominance this season after dropping the Occidental Tigers 20-4 on the road, scoring eight goals in the first period and 10 goals in the second. Sydney Landauer led the Sagehens with six goals and two assists while Maggie Sweeney earned a hat trick with three goals and one assist. With the win, the Sagehens are now 7-0 and will host Colorado College on Apr. 1 at 5:00 p.m.
How It Happened
The Sagehens wasted no time finding the back of the net against the Tigers. Maggie Sweeney ripped one in just 39 seconds into the contest before Claire LeBlanc and Sydney Landauer chimed in minutes later to make it 3-0. Eloise Cherian and Shoshi Henderson each added a goal to expand the lead to 5-0 before Landauer netted the next three to give the Sagehens an 8-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter started much like the first, this time with Grace Warner finding the net 32 seconds after the start of the period to make it 9-0. Henderson, Sweeney, Landauer, and Warner all added a goal before Tessa McHugh dropped in her first goal of the game to make it 14-0. Carly Sullivan, Emma Clark, and Sarah Casey followed in pursuit as the trio all earned their first goals of the game down the stretch in the second quarter, sending the Sagehens into halftime with an 18-0 lead.
The Tigers were able to find a goal in the third quarter and tally three more in the fourth but Maggie Sweeney and Sydney Landauer netted the final two goals for the Sagehens to cap off the 20-4 road victory for Pomona-Pitzer.
