Box Score 2 REDLANDS, Ca. – The Sagehens softball team fell to Redlands 7-4 in game one of the doubleheader. Devin Waddell led the team with three hits and one RBI.
Game One – Redlands 7, Pomona-Pitzer 3
The Sagehens got off to a strong start in the top of the first as Hannah Brajkovic hit a solo homerun over the center field wall to put Pomona-Pitzer up 1-0. Devin Will hit a single in the third inning that brought in Brajkovic to double the Sagehens lead. In the top of the fourth inning, Megan Groves increased the lead to three runs with a home run to left center.
In the fifth inning, Redlands answered back with an RBI single and a three-run home run to take a 4-3 lead. The Bulldogs kept the pressure on in the bottom of the sixth with three RBI singles to take a 7-3 lead.
The Sagehens fought back with an RBI double from Devin Waddell to cut the lead to 7-4 but couldn't find any more runs, falling to the Bulldogs 7-4 in game one of the doubleheader.
Game Two – Redlands 10, Pomona-Pitzer 1
The Sagehens fell behind early after an RBI double and an RBI triple brought in three runs in the first inning. Redlands continued to attack in the second inning, adding in five more runs including a two RBI homerun. The Sagehens found their first run of game two in the fourth inning after an RBI double from Adalee Wasikonis but Redlands earned two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to defeat the Sagehens 10-1.
Devin Waddell and Morgan Groves both ended the day with two hits with the team finishing with seven hits total.
