Box Score CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Lacrosse team continued their undefeated season with a 16-0 shutout over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Cal Lutheran on Wednesday night at William Rolland Stadium.  With the win, the Sagehens improve to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by Zoe Puccia who tallied the only hat-trick of the game for the Sagehens and her first of the season in the win.  Also scoring multi-goal games was Lily Keville and Georgia Scott with two goals each.  Emily Vomvas got the start for the Sagehens and earned a shutout with three saves on three shots against.
The Sagehens opened up the game with the first goal in under a minute of play as Steffi Larson found the back of the net to start the scoring streak for the Sagehens. Puccia followed up with her first goal of the game followed by Keville's first goal to extend the lead to 3-0 inside the first 10 minutes of action.
Puccia netted her second goal of the game followed by back to back goals from Scott and then Keville's second of the night to extend the lead to 7-0. The Sagehens then added two more goals from Ellie Kruse and Grace Warner both assisted by Emma Sheridan to push the lead to 9-0.
Pomona-Pitzer scored the 10th goal of the first half off of a powerplay as Asaka Mori assisted Puccia's third goal while Lily Herrmann and Leah Haverkamp ended the 12-goal first half to take a 12-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Sagehens only added four goals in the second half but still played shutout ball on defense not allowing the Regals to get a goal on the board. Mori started the second half off with her first goal of the season followed by Riley Knowles, Kiran Dickey and Claire LeBlanc as the Sagehens blanked the Regals in their first meeting of the season.
The Sagehens will next head over to SCIAC opponent Occidental on Saturday, March 7th at 11:00 a.m.
