Box Score 2 COSA MESA, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Softball team fell to non-conference opponent Vanguard 6-0 and 8-0 on Sunday afternoon. With the losses, the Sagehens fall to 2-3 overall.

The Sagehens were led by Izzy Deatherage, Karina Falkstrom and Hannah Brajkovich who each had a hit in the loss.
The Sagehens fell behind in the first inning after an RBI single gave Vanguard an early 1-0 lead. The Lions added one more in the fourth off of a defensive miscue by the Sagehens and then the Lions broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth as they plated four runs to take game one of the double header.

The Sagehens were led by Brajkovich who earned the only hit of the game for the Sagehens in the loss.
Pomona-Pitzer and Vanguard started out with two scoreless frames to open up game two, but the Lions got two runs in the bottom of the third off of an RBI triple and a sacrifice fly to start with a 2-0 lead. The Lions followed up with a big fifth inning where they plated six runs to complete the mercy rule over the Sagehens for the 8-0 win in five innings of play.
The Sagehens will next travel to SCIAC opponent Cal Lutheran on Friday, February 28th at 1:00 p.m.
