Colorado Springs, Colo. - Junior Sarah Markowitz (pictured) scored five goals, but Skidmore was able to rally from a three-goal deficit late in the second half and come away with an 11-10 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Friday afternoon at Colorado College. 

The loss drops the Sagehens to 5-3 on the year, with all three losses by one goal (two in overtime), including yesterday's sudden-death 12-11 loss to Wesleyan at Colorado College. Skidmore improves to 5-1 with the win. 

The fifth goal from Markowitz gave Pomona-Pitzer a 9-6 lead with 12:59 left in regulation, but the Thoroughbreds scored three times in a span of two minutes to tie the score 9-9 with 6:15 left on a free position goal from Emma Harris. Sophomore Rebecca Long gave the Sagehens the lead back off a feed from junior Katie Savino with 3:31 to go, but Tyler Phillips won the draw control for Skidmore and went right down and scored 12 seconds later to knot it back up 10-10. 

The Sagehens drew a yellow card, but were unable to score on the man advantage, and after returning to full strength, Phillips found Spencer Morgan for the game winner with exactly 1:00 to play. The Thoroughbreds won the next draw control and were able to run out the clock. 

Morgan had four goals and Phillips three for Skidmore, while Long had three goals for the Sagehens. Gaby Fukumura had nine saves for Pomona-Pitzer in goal. 

The Sagehens are back in action when they complete their three-game trip on Sunday with a game against host Colorado College.
