Tacoma, Wash. - Senior Martha Marich (McLean, Va. - pictured) scored five goals, including the tiebreaker with 4:56 left in regulation, to give the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Lacrosse team an 11-10 win over Puget Sound, its third win in four days, on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Sagehens improve to 4-5 on the year, including three wins this week, starting with a 19-16 home win over Puget Sound on Wednesday. Pomona-Pitzer also edged North Central (Ill.) at home yesterday 14-13 before flying to Tacoma for the rematch with the Loggers on Saturday. Their busy stretch will end with a game against Pacific (Ore.) at Puget Sound tomorrow.

Marich started the scoring with two goals in the first half to put Pomoma-Pitzer ahead 2-0, and then took away the only lead for the Loggers with a tying goal with 15:31 left to play, making the score 7-7.

Freshman Julie Necarsulmer (Kennett Square, Pa.) put the Sagehens ahead at both 8-7 (with 15:04 left) and 9-8 (with 11:08 left), and freshman Clara Engle (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) gave Pomona-Pitzer a 10-9 lead with 9:27 to go. Julia Schulman answered with a tying goal with 7:35 left for the Loggers, but Marich answered back with her fifth of the game off a feed from sophomore Jana London (Chevy Chase, Md.) with 4:56 left.

London scored late in the first half to put Pomona-Pitzer ahead 4-2, but it was the last multi-goal lead for either team, as Puget Sound scored two straight goals in a span of 29 seconds to tie it 4-4. Sophomore Logan Galansky (Denver, Colo.) gave the Sagehens a 5-4 lead heading into the break, and the entire second half was played with neither team holding more than a one-goal lead.

Linnea Bostrom had a huge day in the net for the Loggers, tallying 18 saves to keep her team in the contest. Casey Leek (Bucharest, Romania) had seven saves for the Sagehens.
