DALLAS, TX - On their final day in Dallas, the Hens faced their toughest opponent, the Sewanee Tigers. Last year, the Hens lost to the Tigers 20-8 and this year came out stronger than ever, striving to leave Dallas with an unmarred record. The Sagehens (5-1) continued their winning streak beating Sewanee 16-13.
Martha Marich came out on fire, scoring the first goal of the game at 28 seconds in. Marich went on to score seven goals. Other top scorers were Jana London (4) and Logan Galansky (3).
Defense played a vital role in this game. Freshman goalie Casey Leek secured the win with her 18 saves. Jenny Miner and Emma Molloy provided excellent transition defense, while Madison Noble controlled the low defense with her leadership. The Hens left Texas with a well deserved three wins and hope to continue their winning streak in the upcoming week with three home games versus Allegheny, Linfield and Pacific.
