LA VERNE, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer women's track and field team is currently in third place at the 2023 SCIAC Track and Field Championships with Abigail Loiselle highlighting the team's efforts with a first place finish in the 10k.
Day One Results
The Sagehens showed well in the 1500m as Jenna Lange (4:53.19), Genevieve DiBari (5:00.47), Anna Macdonald (4:53.28), and Mira Terdiman (5:01.90) all qualified for the finals. Olivia Reichle earned a spot in the 400m finals with a prelim time of 1:00.40. The Sagehens had Michaela Jones, Thea McAfee, and Rhea Braganza all qualify for the 800m final as the trio went 2:18.52, 2:26.32, and 2:26.89. In the 400m hurdles, Nicole Player earned a spot in the finals with a time of 1:10.56. In the 200m, Katriona Kirkpatrick turned in the seventh fastest time (26.10s) to make her way to the 200m final. Kelsey Van Allen finished in fourth in the 3k steeplechase with a time of 11:53.66 while Chloe Connolly took eighth with a time of 12:26.07.
The Sagehens saw their first victory of the Championships come by way of Abigail Loiselle in the 10,000m run as Loiselle set a meet record time of 36:02.33 to win the event by over a full minute. Alex Emerson also performed well in the event, taking sixth in 39:23.43. In the hammer, Sara Anderson took eighth with a throw of 37.22m. Logan Spoonemore took second in the javelin with a throw of 36.70m. In the long jump, Khairat Raji and Ella Bowers took sixth and seventh with jumps of 5.12m and 5.06m.
