LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer women's track and field team had a successful weekend at the SCIAC Multi Dual 3, defeating Cal Lutheran 91.50-56.50 and Occidental 92-51 while dropping a close one to Chapman 81-75. The Sagehens also competed well at the Bryan Clay Invitational, performing well in the 1500m, 5k, and 10k. The Sagehens will be back in action on Saturday, Apr. 29 at the 2023 SCIAC Track and Field Championships.
SCIAC Multi Dual 3
Katriona Kirkpatrick led the Sagehens in the 100m and 200m, taking seventh in the 100m with a time of 12.95 seconds while finishing in fourth in the 200m with a time of 25.87 seconds. Tene Ariyo took 10th in the 100m with a time of 13.07 seconds. In the 200m, Olivia Reichle took seventh in 26.53s with Olivia Richards taking 14th with a time of 27.40s. Reia Li took third in the 400m, crossing the line in 1:02.13 with Kheli Phillips and Richards taking fifth and seventh with times of 1:03.06 and 1:07.43. Michaela Jones won the 800m with a time of 2:25.43 while Kelsey Van Allen, Natalie Sokol-Snyder, and Thea McAfee all finished in the top-10 with times of 2:28.87, 2:32.10, and 2:32.19. In the 1500m, Rhea Braganza took second with a time of 4:59.30 with Joya Terdiman taking eighth in 5:08.38. Isabel Burger and Lilly Bar also finished in the top-10 with times of 5:11.72 and 5:13.15. Anna Macdonald won the 5k with a time of 19:03.25 with Alex Emerson taking second in 19:30.25. In the 400m hurdles, Laura Wiederspahn took sixth with a time of 1:11.96 with Nicole Player taking second in 1:12.91. In the 3k steeplechase, Chloe Connolly took fifth in 12:47.97. The Sagehens 4 x 100m relay team of Lillie Minskoff, Olivia Reichle, Tene Ariyo, and Katriona Kirkpatrick took second with a time of 49.26 seconds. The 4 x 400m relay team of Katrioan Kirkpatrick, Reia Li, Michaela Jones, and Olivia Reichle also had a standout day, finishing in first place with a time of 4:00.22, the 22nd fastest time in the nation so far this season.
In high jump, Tene Ariyo took third with a jump of 1.52m with Natalia Cossio taking 10th after jumping 1.42m. Khairat Raji took eighth in long jump with a 4.72m jump with Reia Li taking ninth after jumping 4.64m. Nicole Player took 10th in the event, jumping 4.54m. Ella Bowers and Player showed well in triple jump, taking third and fifth with marks of 10.55m and 10.34m. In the shot put, Izzy Sabatino took sixth with a throw of 9.76m. In the discus, Sara Anderson took sixth with a throw of 32.42m with Zoey Joshlin taking 14th after throwing 24.46m. Anderson and Joshlin also performed well in hammer with the duo taking seventh and 12th with throws of 35.25m and 28.12m. Logan Spoonemore won the javelin with a throw of 35.76m.
Bryan Clay Invitational
Jenna Lange performed well in the 1500m at Bryan Clay, running a 4:43.20. The trio of Mira Terdiman, Katie Cline, and Genevieve DiBari all turned in sub-18 minute times in the 5k with Terdiman leading the way in 17:44.14 while Cline and DiBari ran 17:48.84 and 17:55.35. In the 10k, Abigail Loiselle took 28th place overall with a time of 36:30.63.
