Women's Water Polo: Sagehens Seven Game Win-Streak Snapped By UCSD

LA JOLLA, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo team fell to non-conference opponent UC San Diego 12-4 on Saturday night at the Canyonview Aquatics Center.

Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 17-12 overall.

The Sagehens were led by Nadia Paquin who had a team-high two goals in the loss.

The Sagehens got out to a slow start against the Tritons as they failed to score a goal through the first period. UCSD netted two goals in the first to jump out to a 2-0 lead and extended it to 3-0 early in the second before the Sagehens answered with their first goal of the game from Natalie Hill with 6:14 left in the half to cut the lead down to 3-1. UCSD ended the half with two more goals to extend its lead to 5-1 heading into halftime.

The Tritons and Sagehens both had their highest scoring period of the game in the third quarter. Paquin netted both of her goals in the third, but UCSD found the back of the net five times in the third as they pushed their lead to 10-2.

Pomona-Pitzer scored one more goals in the fourth from Nohea Kahaulelio but could not come back against the Tritons as they snapped the Sagehens' seven game win streak.
