Pasadena, Calif. - The No. 9 ranked Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team picked up its second 9-0 win of the young season, shutting out Caltech in a road match on Saturday morning. 

The Sagehens, who also defeated Cal Lutheran 9-0 last weekend, improve to 2-0 on the year (both SCIAC matches). 

Freshman Shivani Doraiswami (pictured) had a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles, as did freshman Emily Kuo at No. 6 singles. Junior Lea Lynn Yen earned a win at No. 1, while freshman Emily Chen (No. 3), junior Marie Fleming (No. 4) and sophomore Mallory Roth (No. 5) earned singles wins as well. 

Singles were played first due to the threat of rain, so the Sagehens already had the match clinched heading into doubles, but swept those as well, with Yen and freshman Grace Hruska winning at No. 1, Maryann Zhao and Maddie Gordon earning a shutout win at No. 2, and Fleming and Roth picking up the win at No. 3.

Pomona-Pitzer returns to action next Saturday for a road match at Redlands, beginning at 10 a.m.
