Redlands was able to hold for the final shot, and Kirk got a contested look at a three-pointer, but missed everything and fell into the hands of Klewer as time ran out.
Neither team was able to score in the extra session until Josiah Brensdal made a driving lay-up to put the Bulldogs in front. After the Sagehens came up empty on the offensive end, Kirk made a backdoor cut and hit a tough driving lay-up to push the lead to 81-77. Redlands pushedhe lead up to 85-77 before senior guard Xavyr Moss (Federal Way, Wash.) scored the first Pomona-Pitzer points of overtime on a three-pointer with 50 seconds left, but the Sagehens could come no closer.
Moss finished with 15 points for the Sagehens, while McAndrews added 11. Brensdal had 21 points for Redlands, while Kirk had 11 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in a well-balanced stat line.
