At Pomona-Pitzer: Entering his first season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Football program…High School:  Attended Billings West High School where he was a three sport athlete, competing in football, swimming and track…Lettered in all three sports, and was among a handful of athletes who received an award for this accomplishment at West…Selected for Football University’s Top Gun program as a linebacker, but chose to play nose guard for West’s Golden Bears as a senior…Began playing on the varsity squad his sophomore year as a defensive lineman after playing linebacker during his freshman year…Helped Bears make the playoffs in 2012 and 2014…Captain of the swimming team and qualified for the State Finals as a junior, although was not able to compete his senior year…Threw discus, javelin and shot put for the tack team…Made Regionals junior year throwing javelin and was not able to compete his senior year… Chosen for Academic All-State in all but one semester he competed as a varsity athlete…Also a member of the National Honor Society, a recipient of the Principal’s Award, worked as a Student Mentor, was on Honor Roll all semesters, and received three Congressional Nominations for the Service Academies.

Personal: Attends Pitzer College, where he plans to major in engineering, although he also has broad interests in basic, biological, and systems sciences…Spent the summer before his freshman year at Pitzer he worked at a lifeguard for the City of Billings, after working as a lifeguard, waterfront staff and counselor at Melita Island Scout Camp on Flathead Lake in Montana for three summers…A Red Cross Certified Lifeguard, and has been Certified by the Boy Scouts of America as a Lifeguard and Waterfront Supervisor…Achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as member of Troop 27, where he led the building a large shed for Zoo Montana in his hometown of Billings…A one palm Eagle Scout, who was selected for the Order of the Arrow and holds Brotherhood status…Has one older sister, Lindsay, who played volleyball for St. Ambrose University in Iowa…Younger brother Tilden is a two sport athlete back at West with football and swimming…Father played on the Farm Team for the Phoenix Inferno in the Major Indoor Soccer League as an amateur, then went on to play football and soccer at University of LaVerne, finishing his last two years of eligibility playing soccer at San Francisco State…Hobbies broadly include being in the outdoors…Favorite authors are Clive Cussler and Dan Brown, and his favorite movies are Interstellar and American Sniper…Chose Pitzer College, “Because I’ll get a great education and be part of a community people who want to make a positive impact on the world.”
