Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed his senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Swimming team, where he competes in the freestyle and backstroke...Helped set a school record as a junior (2011) in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:08.29 and then break it as a senior at the SCIAC Championships (2012) with a 3:07.83...Ranks fourth in school history in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.25) and third in the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.50)...2011-12: Was an important contributor to the Sagehens, both in individual events and in relays...Part of a 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished second in the SCIAC Championships with a 1:24.82...Qualified for the finals at the SCIACs in the 500-yard freestyle, where he finished in sixth place with a 4:46.36, and in the 200-yard backstroke, where he came in eighth with a 1:57.50, a personal record...Had a 1:44.57 in the SCIAC Championships in the 200-yard freestyle, good for ninth place and just .32 off his personal best...Part of a 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished in third place with a 6:57.80...High School: Attended Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, where he competed for the football, water polo and swimming teams...Was an all-league selection in water polo for the Sierra Valley Conference...Also competed for the Sacramento Stingrays swim club, where he broke the league record in the 200-meter medley relay and the 100 butterfly in 2008...Personal: Attending Pomona College, where he majors in mathematics...Plans to attens a Ph.D. program in operations research after graduation...Worked as a head sponsor in Pomona's Sponsor Program during his junior year and is currently working as a senior interviewer in the admissions office...Chose Pomona "because of great academics, a true sense of community, and the opportunity to swim in college.
