Box Score 2 THOUSAND OAKS, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Baseball team dropped their season series against Cal Lutheran with a 4-3 loss in game one of their doubleheader and a 6-4 win on Saturday afternoon at Ullman Stadium.
Season Impact: with the split, the Sagehens move to 16-17 overall and 7-10 in SCIAC play.
Pomona-Pitzer 3, Cal Lutheran 4
The Sagehens were led by Caleb Millikan and Jimmy Legg who each had two hits and four of the Sagehens six hits in game one. Millikan also registered two RBI in the game while Isaac Kim and Jack Colton each had one hit. Jake Hilton got the ball in game one of the doubleheader and went 5.2 innings with two runs, one earned, and 11 strikeouts for the no-decision. Hannoh Seo came in for Hilton while Eric Prough picked up the loss late in the game.
The Sagehens played from in front after they scored three runs in the top of the fourth after Millikan singled home two and David Bedrosian grounded out to bring in another Sagehens to make it 3-0.
Cal Lutheran came back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut into the lead at 3-2 but went on to take the lead back in the bottom of the eighth after a fielder's choice and an error plated two crucial runs for the Kingsmen to take their first lead of the game at 4-3.
After surrendering the lead late in the game, the Sagehens couldn't rally in the top of the ninth as they fell to Cal Lutheran in game one 4-3.

The Sagehens were led by Millikan who had a four-hit game going 4-5 in the win. Nate Jakobs, Jack Colton, and Matthew Nishimura also had multi-hit games with two with Jakobs blasting two home runs, and JC Ng, Jimmy Legg, David Bedrosian, and Jackson Fleming had one hit each. Eamon Woods got the start and the win in game two after he went five innings and gave up two runs with eight strikeouts. The Sagehen bullpen got its money's worth as Wade Lawson, Landon Carter, Ben Cohen, Eric Prough, and Eddie Rosemont all saw action in game two.
Pomona-Pitzer struck early in game two and jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second after Fleming got the first run across via a sacrifice fly. Jakobs followed in the third with a solo shot to left field while the Sagehens added two more in the fourth with RBI's from Kim and Millikan to extend the lead to 4-0.
Cal Lutheran cut into the lead a bit in the fourth and fifth inning with a run each to make it 4-2, but the Sagehens answered with another Jakobs homer to push the lead to 5-2.
The Kingsmen made it a game late with a run in the sixth and another in the bottom of the eighth to cut the lead down to one run at 5-4, but the Sagehens added another insurance run with an RBI single from Nishimura to go up 6-4.
Rosemont was able to hold off the Kingsmen in the ninth as he picked up his first save of the year to end the series with a win for the Sagehens.
