Box Score ORANGE, CA. – The Sagehens advanced in their elimination game in the SCIAC Tournament as they defeated Chapman 11-6 on Saturday morning at Hart Park.
The Sagehens will now await the winner of Cal Lutheran and La Verne to determine their next opponent later in the evening.
The Sagehens were led by Isaac Kim who went 3-5 with two homeruns and five RBI's in the win. David Bedrosian also went 3-5 with a homerun while JC Ng, Kevin Lo and Caleb Millikan each had two hits. Harry Deliyannis got the start and the win after he went seven inning with just four runs surrendered and five strikeouts. Eric Prough came on in relief as well as Joe Williams for an inning each.
The Sagehens started the game with back-to-back walks that set up Kim for a three-run homer on the first hit of the game to give the Sagehens a quick 3-0 lead. Chapman responded in the bottom of the first with a run off of a doubleplay, but the Sagehens and Kim came back in the second with his second homerun in as many innings to extend the lead to 5-1.
The Sagehens continued to pile on in the fourth as Lo singled home Ng and Nate Jakobs added an RBI single to make it 8-1 and Bedrosian gave the Sagehens their largest lead of the night with a solo shot in the sixth to make it 9-1.
The Panthers added an RBI single in the sixth, but Jimmy Legg and Ng plated more runs for the Sagehens in the top of the seventh to take an 11-2 lead and keep the advantage at eight runs.
Chapman tried to make a late run at the Sagehens after they scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth, but the Sagehens did too much damage early in the game to survive and advance to another elimination game tonight at Hart Park.
