Box Score PASADENA, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Baseball team started out their three-game series with a 15-3 win over SCIAC opponent Caltech on Friday afternoon at North Field.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improve to 17-3 overall and 5-2 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by JC Ng who went 4-5 with three runs scored and two RBI's on the day. Caleb Millikan went 3-5 with two RBI's while David Bedrosian and Jackson Fleming each had two hits in the win. Harry Deliyannis went the complete seven innings and surrendered three runs off of six hits with 11 strikeouts.
Pomona-Pitzer exploded on offense in the first two innings with three in the first and nine in the second. The Sagehens got the offense going with RBI's from Bedrosian, Nate Jakobs and Millikan in the first to take a 3-0 lead. Then the Sagehens broke the game open in the second with nine more. Isaac Kim got the scoring going in the second followed by RBI's from Ryan Nishi, Jimmy Legg, Ng, and Bedrosian to extend the lead to 12-0.
Caltech ended up getting three runs back in the bottom of the fourth, but the Sagehens went up by 10 after another Ng RBI and then two more runs in the seventh capped off the run rule for the Sagehens in game one of their SCIAC series.
