Box Score CLREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Baseball team finished off its three-game series with MIT with a 6-3 win on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improve to 16-3 overall.
The Sagehens were led by David Bedrosian, Isaac Kim and Caleb Millikan who all tallied two hits in the win with Bedrosian earning an RBI and three runs scored, Kim has two RBI's and one run scored and Millkan getting an RBI as well. Jake Hilton got the rock to start the final game of the non-conference series and went five complete innings and gave up three runs off five hits while Eamonn Woods came in with four innings of relief to get the save.
The Sagehens got out to a lead in the bottom of the first inning as Kim doubled home Bedrosian to take a 1-0 lead. Pomona-Pitzer went on to add one run in all of the first three innings with Jimmy Legg singling home Nate Jakobs in the second and then a Bedrosian solo homer in the third to put the Sagehens up 3-0.
MIT made up ground in the top of the fourth with a bases loaded single that brought home two to cut it to 3-2 and tied it with their next-at bats in the fifth off of a double play that scored one to tie the game at 3-3.
The Sagehens reclaimed the lead by way of a balk that gifted them the go-ahead run while Woods came on and put it four innings of shutout relief work to get the Sagehens on top. The Sagehens added two more in the bottom of the eighth with a homer from Kim and an RIB single from Millikan as the Sagehens completed the sweep over MIT with the 6-3 win.
