Box Score CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Baseball team took the first two games of their three-game series with Linfield with a 15-1 win at home on Satuyrday afternoon.
Season Impact: with the win, the Sagehens improve to 5-1 overall.
The Sagehens were led by David Bedrosian who went 5-6 with six RBIs in the win. Caleb Millikan turned out a three-hit performance going 3-4 with three runs scored while Isaac Kim had two hits including a massive three-run shot.
Brett Super got the win on the mound for the Sagehens as he improved to 2-0 on the year. Super went six innings and only gave up two hits, one run and had two strikeouts. Joe Williams came in for an inning of relief work while Gabe Garcia closed out the final two innings of the contest.
Much like the first game, the Sagehens took the lead in their very first at-bats. Kim got the scoring going in a big way with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first. The Sagehens added four more in the bottom of the third after RBIs from Ryan Nishi, Bedrosian, Jack Damelio, and James Schmidt to take a 7-0 lead.
Bedrosian earned two more RBIs in the fourth and came around to score to extend the lead to 10-0 before Linfield got their first run of the game in the top of the sixth off of an error to cut the lead down to 10-1.
Bedrosian and Jackson Fleming got RBIs in the seventh while Matthew Nishimura and Bedrosian again capped things off in the eighth as the Sagehens dominated in game two over the Wildcats.
