ANAHEIM, Calif. – The No. 5 ranked Pomona-Pitzer women's tennis team defeated Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Chapman 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Sagehens started out with a 3-0 lead as they took all three of the doubles matches.
The Sagehens took the first doubles match as the team of Emily Chen and Caroline Casper own the No. 1 doubles match by the score of 8-5.
Mae Coyiuto and Arianna Chen won the No. 2 doubles match by the score of 8-1 and Marie Fleming and Maddie Gordon won the No. 3 doubles by the score of 8-1.
The Sagehens swept the singles matches as well as Shivani Doraiswami won the No. 1 singles by the score of 6-1, 6-3.
Emily Kuo won her match in the No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory and Chen won her match in the No. 3 singles as she defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Lucy Jiang went on to win her singles match in the No. 4 spot as she won by the score 6-0, 6-1 and Mallory Roth took care of her opponent in the No. 5 singles by the score of 6-4, 6-1.
Pomona-Pitzer ended the day with a win in the No. 6 singles as Maddie Gordon defeated her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The Sagehens next take the court as they host SCIAC opponent Caltech on Saturday, April 9th at 10:45 a.m.
