Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer baseball team fell to Pacific 25-7 on Friday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Sagehen pitching staff had a rough outing in today's game as they allowed a combined 25 runs on the day.
The Boxers started out with a large lead as they plated 10 runs in the first inning highlighted by a bases loaded double that scored three runners to start Pacific off with a 10-0 lead.
The Sagehens got two back in the bottom of the first as sophomore Bryce Rogan hit a two-run homer to center field to cut the lead down to 10-2.
The Boxers responded by getting one back in the top of the second on a fielder's choice RBI to bring the lead to 11-2.
Pomona-Pitzer got one more in the bottom of the third as sophomore Kevin Jordan hit and RBI single to bring home senior Simon Rosenbaum to cut the lead to 11-3.
Pacific tacked on four more in the top of the fourth and took a 15-3 lead.
Senior Kevin Brice smacked the second homer of the day for the Sagehens as he hit a solo shot to center field for this third homer run of the year.
Freshman Andrew Phillips got his first hit of his collegiate career as he doubled down the left field line to bring home two Sagehens in the bottom of the sixth.
Pomona-Pitzer got one more in the bottom of the eighth as senior Billy Morales hit an RBI single to center but the Sagehens ultimately fell to the Boxers for their second-straight loss.
The Sagehens end the three game series with Pacific with the final game tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at Alumni Field.
