Pasadena, Calif. - Seniors Emily Kawahara (Sacramento, Calif.), Nicole Holsted (Edmund, Okla.) and Ellie Shanholt (Burlingame, Calif. - pictured) won in both singles and doubles to lead the 15th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team to an 8-1 win over Caltech on Wednesday afternoon.

The match was originally scheduled for Friday but was moved to this afternoon due to rain. With the win, the Sagehens improve to 11-6 overall and 5-1 in the SCIAC, while Caltech falls to 3-8 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Shanholt won her match at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0 and also paired with senior Chelsey Kitazawa (Torrance, Calif.) to earn an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Alex Antonoplis (La Canada, Calif.) also didn't drop a game in capturing a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.

Holsted and Kawahara earned an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, whith Holsted earning a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles and Kawahara prevailing 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3.

Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Sunday when it hosts Redlands for a 12 noon match at Pauley Courts.
