High School: Attended The Webb Schools right in Claremont, where she played volleyball and water polo for four years and swimming for three, and managed the boys' volleyball team as a senior...MVP/Coaches Award in 2011 for volleyball...MVP in both 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 for water polo...Served as a captain for volleyball as a senior and a two-year captain for water polo...Most Outstanding All Around Athlete award winner in 2012...Second-team all-league for water polo 2010-2011 and 2011-2012..Earned school's Gaul Award for 11 seasons of varsity sports...Academic Team Champion in Swimming in 2009-2010 and in Water Polo 2009-2010 and 2011-2012...Helped the Gauls to CIF appearances for volleyball and water polo all four years (reaching the quarterfinals for volleyball freshman year)...Highlighted in the Glendale News Press detailing a water polo game against Flintridge Prep: "The Flintridge Prep girls' water polo team ran into a one-man wrecking crew in the form of Webb's Emma Burdekin who scored more than half of her team's goals in a 15-5 win over the Rebels."...Class salutatorian...National Merit finalist...Earned 11th Grade English Award...AP scholar...Earned Brown University Book Award and the Sorosky achievement award...Cum Laude Member Junior and Senior Year, Honor Cabinet Member 2010-2012, National Spanish Exam Level 2 Gold and Level 3 & 4 Silver...AP Scholar with Distinction.

Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in biology with a Spanish minor...plans to become a pediatrician...Has an older sister who graduated from Georgetown University in 2014 and a younger sister...Father, Richard, is a professor of economics at Claremont McKenna...Hobbies include swimming, traveling and reading...Favorite books include the Harry Potter series, The Help, Hunger Games, and The Great Gatsby...Favorite movies are Up, Anchorman and Good Will Hunting...Favorite athletes include Ryan Lochte, Misty May and Kerri Walsh, Gabby Douglas and Missy Franklin...Spent the summer (2015) interning at LA BioMed and Make-A-Wish OCIE...Worked at GIRLS Camp in the summers of 2010 and 2011...Chose Pomona because "what I love about Pomona is that it's a small school with a non-competitive and friendly environment that gives me the opportunity to pursue not only all my academic interests, but also to play volleyball.  It strikes the perfect balance!"
