Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Swimming team, where she competed in the freestyle (100, 200, 500, distance)...Ranks third in school history in the 50 free (24.39), third in the 100 free (52.67), third in the 200 free (1:53.77) and eighth in the 500 free (5:06.93)...Part of three school records in freestyle relays, the 200 (1:36.91), the 400 (3:30.85) and the 800 (7:37.25)...Also a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo team, where she was a utility player and helped the Sagehens to three straight SCIAC titles.

2014-15: SCIAC Champion in 100 free and 200 free, as well as 800 free relay...All-SCIAC in 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 400 medley relay relay...National qualifier (800 free relay)...CSCAA Scholar All-American...SCIAC All-Academic Team...SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week (Jan. 20)...Earned a pair of individual titles at the SCIAC Championships, winning a thrilling race in the 200 free by just .04 (1:53.77 to 1:53.81), breaking her personal best by over a second and moving into second place in Pomona-Pitzer history...Also won the 100 free with a personal-best time of 52.67, ranking third in school history...Swam the anchor leg to help the Sagehens defend their SCIAC title and qualify for nationals in the 800 free relay...Earned a fifth place finish in the 50 free with a 24.48, after qualifying for finals with a 24.39, the third-best time in school history...Earned the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week after winning two close races on her Senior Day against Redlands in the 100 and 200 free. 

2013-14: All-American (honorable mention) in the 400 and 800 freestyle relays...CSCAA Scholar All-America first-team selection...SCIAC Champion in 800 freestyle relay...All-SCIAC in 200 and 400 freestyle relays...SCIAC All-Academic team...Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 800-yard freestyle relay by earning a SCIAC Championship with a time of 7:41.10...Set school records at nationals in the 400 (3:30.85) and 800 (7:37.25) relays, earning All-America honorable mention honors in both...Finished fourth at the SCIAC Championships in the 500 free with a 5:07.89...Also earned a fifth place finish in the 200 in 1:55.18 and seventh in the 100 (53.72)...A second-team All-SCIAC selection for the conference champion Women's Water Polo team.

2012-13: SCIAC All-Academic team selection...All-SCIAC in three freestyle relays...SCIAC Champion in 800 freestyle relay...Part of three school record relays at the SCIAC Championships...Came in fifth place at SCIACs in the 200 free with a 1:55.36, the fourth-best time in Pomona-Pitzer history...Came in sixth in the 100 free after recording the fourth best time in program history in the prelims (53.35)...Also earned a fifth-place finish in the 500, with a top time of 5:06.93...Swam the anchor leg of the 200 free relay (1:37.72) and the 400 free relay (3:32.86), which both set school records...Also swam the second leg of the 800 free relay (7:43.41) which won a SCIAC title in school record time...Won a SCIAC title with the Women's Water Polo team and earned a seventh place finish at the NCAA Championships.

2011-12: Was a versatile freestyler, who competed in both the freestyle sprints and the distance events over the course of the season, as well as the freestyle relay teams...Part of a 400-yard freestyle relay team that came in second at the SCIAC championships (3:34.72) and an 800-yard relay team that finished third (7:53.14)...Qualified for the finals in the SCIAC Championships in the 500-yard freestyle, coming in eighth...Had a prelim time of 5:17.00...Also qualified for the finals in the 200 free, coming in sixth with a 1:58.27, as well as the 100 free, coming in seventh with 54.57...Helped Women's Water Polo team to SCIAC Championship...Earned SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week after leading Sagehens to win over No. 1 Occidental.

High School: Attended Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, where she competed on the swimming and water polo teams...Earned one sectional title for the swim team...Also a part of four sectional titles in water polo...Earned Rio Americano's Female Athlete of the Year Award...A National Merit Scholar Commended Scholar, and an AP Scholar with honors...Also competed for the Arden Hills Swimming club and the American River Water Polo club.

Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in mathematical economics with a minor in computer science...Both parents are physicians...Has two sisters, one of whom attended Pomona and played water polo for Pomona-Pitzer, while the other played water polo at Princeton...Spent the summer (2014) teaching a seven-week computer science curriculum to high school girls at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco as part of a Girls Who Code summer immersion program...Favorite movies are Forrest Gump and the Harry Potter movies...Chose Pomona because "I love the size, location, and environment Pomona offers. It is also an excellent balance of academics and athletics."
