Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her junior season as a diver on the Pomona-Pitzer Swimming and Diving team, where she competes in both the one-meter and three-meter springboard…Holds the school record in the one-meter (432.95), which she broke three times as a junior, while qualifying for NCAA Regionals.

2014-15: Finished fourth at the SCIAC Championships in the 1-meter, with a 432.95, breaking her own school record which she first set at the Collegiate Winter Invitational in December and then broke at home in a dual meet with Redlands...Qualified for the NCAA Division III Regionals, but did not compete due to an injury.

2013-14: Earned a sixth-place finish in the three-meter at SCIAC Championships with a score of 354.80...Also was sixth in the one-meter with a 377.70, the second best score in program history.

2012-13: Finished sixth in the one-meter at SCIAC Championships with 270 points...Also earned a ninth-place finish in the three-meter...Came in first in the one-meter in a dual at CMS.

High School: Attended Summerfield Waldorf High School in Santa Rosa, California, where she was a diver…Her school did not have a swimming and diving team, but she was able to compete individually as a junior and senior and qualified for the North Coast Section Championships…Top qualifier from the North Bay in 2012…Finished in second place in the 2011 North Bay League Championships and earned top score in 2012…Nominated for Press Democrat Scholar-Athlete of the Year…Class valedictorian…Highest honor roll all four years of high school…Also competed for the Santa Rosa Diving club team.

Personal: Attending Pitzer College, where she majors in organismal biology and environmental analysis…Hopes to go to graduate school for marine biology...Most passionate about marine research and conservation...Senior thesis in biology is about humpback whale acoustics...Spent the summer (2015) living on a small island in Southeast Alaska for three months, collecting data for senior thesis through an internship with the Alaska Whale Foundation...Spent the summer (2014) in Australia for part of the summer as a research assistant at Flinders University in Adelaide, studying bottlenose dolphin ecology...Also spent a month living on a sailboat in the South Pacific as a crew member, making the crossing from Tonga to Fiji...Conducted research at UC Davis's Bodega Marine Laboratory under a PhD student in marine ecology...Is a student fellow with the Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern California Sustainability...Hobbies include spending time at the ocean and hiking/backpacking…Interned at the PRBO Laboratory…Was on her high school green team all four years…Work-Exchange volunteer at the Bioneers Conference in 2011…Instructor at Circus Waldissima’s after school circus program…Chose Pitzer because “I love the small school community paired with the resources of the 5-C consortium.
