CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's tennis fell 5-0 at CMS Saturday in the SCIAC Tournament Finals. The Sagehens will now await the remainder of their postseason fate with the NCAA Selection Show taking place Monday, May 4.
The Athenas claimed the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 wins on courts one and two.
Annique Varty and
Ishya Bhavsar put up a fight for the Sagehens on court one while
Tessa Ellingson and
Aditi Gulati fell on court two.
Meha Chaudhary fell on singles court two despite winning the first game, 6-4. She fell 4-6 and 3-6 in the next two. Ellingson then dropped her match on court four, 3-6, 6-2, 3-6.
Sofia Kalyva fell in straight sets, 2-5, 5-7, on court three before Varty fell on court five, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6.
