CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Caltech on Saturday morning at the Pauley Tennis Complex.

Season Impact: The win puts the Sagehens at 8-6 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.

The Sagehens secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Lauren Rha and Leticia Bazua Vazquez opened with a dominant 6-1 victory at the top spot, while Tessa Ellingson and Aditi Gulati added a 6-3 win at No. 3. Caltech picked up its lone doubles win at No. 2.

In singles play, the Sagehens controlled the match, winning five of six courts to seal the team victory. Bazua Vazquez battled through a three-set match at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 win. Mireille Chedid-Daley followed with a strong 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2, while Sofia Kalyva added a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4. Tessa Ellingson secured a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5, and Annique Varty closed out the match with a three-set win at No. 6, 6-1, 5-7, 6-1. Caltech's lone point came at No. 3 singles.
