ORANGE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team defeated SCIAC opponent Chapman University 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Tennis Center.
The Sagehens started the day with a sweep of the doubles matches to take the early point over the Panthers.
Lauren Rha and
Leticia Bazua Vazquez earned a 6-4 win at the No. 1 spot with
Annique Varty and
Ishya Bhavsar also getting a 6-4 win at No. 2.
Tessa Ellingson and
Aditi Gulati made quick work of their match at No. 3 with a straight 6-0 win.
Pomona-Pitzer went on to win five of the six singles matches as well. Rha doubled her wins on the day with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 1 position, Bazua Vazquez earning a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2.
Meha Chaudhary entered the singles lineup to get a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 with Ellingson also getting a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles. The Sagehens ended the day with another win at the No. 3 spot as
Mireille Chedid-Daley won back-to-back matches of 6-3 to keep the Sagehens unbeaten in SCIAC play.
