CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer women's tennis team came up short against No. 6 Middlebury losing 2-5 on Wednesday evening at home.
Season Impact: The win puts the Sagehens at 5-5 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
Middlebury claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The Sagehens picked up a win at No. 2 doubles, where Tessa Ellingson and Aditi Gulati secured a 6-4 win.
In singles play, the Sagehens battled to three wins but came up just short in the overall match. Mireille Chedid-Daley earned a three-set victory at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, while Meha Chaudhary rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3. Middlebury secured singles wins at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to clinch the match.
