CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's basketball fell to Redlands 81-66 Monday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.
Season Impact: The result puts the Sagehens at 6-9 on the season, including 2-5 in SCIAC play.
Charlie Hutchison led Pomona-Pitzer with 15 points to go with five rebounds and two assists, while
Cooper Bladow added 14 points and two boards.
Matthew Diekmann contributed nine points and three boards.
The Sagehens kept up with the Bulldogs early, as a Hutchison layup and a Bladow three put the team up 18-17.
Charlie Treene later hit a jumper and
Reagan Cornish added a three to give Pomona-Pitzer a 25-23 advantage. Redlands, though, closed the half on a 16-6 run to take a 39-31 lead.
The Bulldogs extended their lead to 15, 60-45, midway through the second half before
Connor Fitzgerald hit a triple. Bladow hit back-to-back threes to bring Pomona-Pitzer within nine, 65-56, with 5:05 remaining. Bladow hit another jumper and Hutchison added a layup late, but Redlands came away with the 81-66 win.
