TACOMA, WA. – The Sagehens continued their season strong in their game against the University of Puget Sound with a winning score of 1-0 on Friday afternoon in Tacoma, Washington.

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens continue their season 2-0-0 overall.

The Sagehens started with a robust defense that blocked a shot at the 4' minute mark. The offense tried to break through the Loggers defense with a shot from forward Hannah Hong at the 7' minute mark saved by the opposing goalie. From there, both teams stood strong and neither managed to gain an edge over the other despite several shot attempts on both sides. Notably, defender Anjali Nuggehalli had a shot attempt at the 28' minute mark that missed high and Puget Sound's defense blocked Ally Hsieh's two attempts to score at the 32' minute mark. Goalie Hadley Johnson then led Pomona-Pitzer's defense by blocking two goal attempts from the opposing team at the 34' and 40' minute marks. The Sagehens continued to push against the Loggers with a goal attempt by forward Imogen Jenkyn at the 42' minute mark which the opposing goalie blocked. The Sagehens ended the half in a stalemate of 0-0.

The Sagehen defense remained strong going into the second half. Goalie Patricia DePalma maintained the momentum as she saved a shot at the 49' minute mark. Midfielder Kendrick Dahlin put the Sagehens on the board with the first goal of the game off of an assist by Nuggehalli at the 71' minute mark leaving the Sagehens in the lead 1-0. Pomona-Pitzer refused to give in, successfully fighting off Puget Sound's attacks all the way to the end of the game.
