LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer baseball defeated Occidental 10-2 and 10-0 in games two and three Saturday on the road to complete the series sweep over the Tigers. The wins propel the Sagehens to the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.
Season Impact: The wins give Pomona-Pitzer a final regular season record of 27-13, including 16-8 in SCIAC play. The Sagehens finished the season tied for second in the conference standings with CMS and Cal Lutheran, but hold the tiebreaker head-to-head series wins over both teams.

Justin Zerger led the Sagehens offensively in game two of the series with four RBI from the DH spot.
Cooper Berry added two while
Lateef Wakil,
JC Ng,
Tanner DeGrazia and
Jimmy Legg each had one.
Jack Wiessinger earned the win from the bump after fanning nine batters in 6.0 innings.
Ng put Pomona-Pitzer on the board first in the third with an RBI single. The Tigers tied the game in the fourth before the Sagehen bats got hot. Zerger blasted a two-run homer to right in the fifth, before adding an RBI single in the sixth to make it 4-1.
The Sagehens then used a six-run seventh inning to go up 10-1, with Berry, DeGrazia, Zerger, Legg and Wakil posting RBI in the frame. The Tigers got a run back in the ninth, but Pomona-Pitzer went on to seal the 10-2 win.

Pomona-Pitzer gave up just one hit in its second shutout victory of the season.
Eamonn Woods earned the win from the mound after striking out five in 5.0 IP.
Wade Lawson added four K's in 2.0 IP. Berry led the Sagehen offense with three RBI while Zerger added two.
Berry and Zerger led the Sagehens to an early 4-0 lead after the opening frame, with both posting two-run singles. Berry and
Xavier Hattenburg added RBI in the second before
Greg Pierantoni scored on an error, making it 7-0 Pomona-Pitzer. Legg and
Jack Gold added RBI in the fourth and fifth frames.
Carson Evans scored on an error in the seventh inning to make it 10-0 Sagehens. The Pomona-Pitzer defense closed the game strong, ultimately taking the 10-0 win in seven innings.
