Sagehens 9, CMS 7

In a rematch of Thursday's opening round of the SCIAC Tournament, the Sagehens got their revenge with a comeback 9-7 win over the Stags. Tanner DeGrazia led the Pomona-Pitzer bats with three RBI after going 3-for-4 from the plate, while Jimmy Legg added a pair of RBI with a two-run homer to right. Eli Della Bitta earned the win from the mound while Justin Zerger posted the save. Eamonn Woods struck out four after starting from the bump and going 4.2 IP.

Pomona-Pitzer played from behind from the start, as CMS took a 5-0 lead through the first four innings. Jack Gold then tallied an RBI hit-by-pitch to put the Sagehens on the board, before a two-run DeGrazia single made it 5-3. The Stags, though, extended their lead to 7-3 after adding two in the fifth.

Sammy Lee hit a sac fly in the fifth, before Legg blasted his two-run homer to right field, bringing the Sagehens within a run at 7-6. Berry then singled through the left side to score Lee, tying the game at 7-7 in the seventh. JC Ng scored on an error later in the frame before DeGrazia hit another RBI single to put the Sagehens up 9-7.

The Pomona-Pitzer defense held strong over the final two innings, with Zerger producing a line out and a pair of groundouts to seal the 9-7 Sagehen win.
