REDLANDS, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Lacrosse team defeated SCIAC opponent Redlands 25-1 on Saturday afternoon at Farquhar field.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improved to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by
Fiona Lewis who netted six goals in the win while
Sydney Landauer also had a hat-trick with three.
Maria Favret,
Grace Tighe,
Zaina Sayeed,
Taylor Glanville,
Caili Cross, and
Ella Bradley had two goals while
Gwynn Sullivan,
Madelyn Katz,
Kiki Grace, and
River Buechner had one.
The Bulldogs started with the first goal of the game off of a player advantage to take a 1-0 lead before the Sagehens sparked a 25-0 run to end the game. Pomona-Pitzer went on to score 11 goals in the first quarter from the sticks of Lewis, Tighe, Landauer, Glanville, Cross and Sullivan to get the running clock to end the first quarter with a 10-goal lead.
Pomona-Pitzer's defense shut out Redlands for the remainder of the game while the offense continued to add goals with five in the second, five in the third and four more in the fourth. Landauer, Lewis, Cross, and Bradley all netted goals in the second to put the Sagehens up 16-1 at halftime.
Despite having the game in hand, the Sagehens still managed to outscore Redlands 9-0 in the second half as Favret, Grace, Lewis, Glanville, Buechner, Katz and Sayeed all added goals to the box score as Pomona-Pitzer kept their unbeaten SCIAC streak alive with a win at Redlands.
