CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Lacrosse team kept their streak of SCIAC wins rolling with a 23-6 victory over Cal Lutheran on Wednesday night at Merritt Field.
Season Impact: with the win, the Sagehens improved to 12-2 overall and 8-0 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by
Maria Favret and
Fiona Lewis who each netted four goals in the win.
Sydney Landauer also earned a hat-trick with three while
Grace Tighe,
Taylor Glanville,
Shoshi Henderson and
Caili Cross had two and
Madelyn Katz,
Ruby Gibbs.
Audrey Jacklyn, and Ricer Buechner had one.
A huge run to start the game for Pomona-Pitzer got the clock running in the first with a 10-0 lead with 2:26 left in the first. Lewis, Cross, Henderson, Landauer, Glanville, and Tighe all helped the Sagehens with 11 first-quarter goals to take a big lead into the second.
Pomona-Pitzer kept rolling with six more goals in the second. Tighe and Henderson got their second of the night before Cal Lutheran scored their first of the game to make it 13-1. The Sagehens finished the first half on a 4-1 run with goals from Landauer, Tighe, Favret and Buechner to take a 17-2 lead into halftime.
The Regals matched the Sagehens with three goals in the third as Favret, Jacklyn, Gibbs and Katz all scored second half goals for the Sagehens as they cruised to a big home win over the Regals.
