WHITTIER, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's basketball fell 56-51 to Whittier College Wednesday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.
Season Impact: The result drops the Sagehens to 11-10 on the season, including 6-6 in SCIAC play.
Emily Lee led Pomona-Pitzer with a team-high 16 points, knocking down 5-of-8 from three.
Jadyn Lee scored 11 points, five assists and three steals while
Abigail Homan had 10 points and four rebounds.

Emily Lee knocked down a trey, tying the game at 42 with 4:33 left. The Poets' Lorita Salloom hit a jumper before Homan scored in the paint, tying things back up at 44. Homan then knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Sagehens a two-point lead, 46-44, with 3:15 remaining.
But Whittier finished strong, using a 4-0 run to go up 50-46 with 38 seconds left and all but sealing the game. The Poets knocked down each of their six free throw attempts down the stretch, coming away with the 56-51 win.
Emily Lee started the game off hot for the Sagehens from deep, knocking down three three-pointers to give Pomona-Pitzer a 9-6 lead. She hit her fourth trey of the quarter before
Jadyn Lee added a three of her own, as the Sagehens trailed 17-15 at the end of one. The Poets, though, outscored Pomona-Pitzer 13-5 in the second to take a 31-20 lead at the half.
The Sagehens clawed their way back in the third, with a
Sara Chicco triple cutting their deficit to four, 33-29. Chicco hit another three before Patel scored a lay-in as Pomona-Pitzer trailed 39-34 at the end of the third.
Jadyn Lee hit another three to make it 39-37 Poets early in the fourth. Patel then scored a lay-in with 6:11 left, sparking a Sagehen comeback as the team led with under four minutes to go. Whittier, though, would go on to hold on for the 56-51 win.
