CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer baseball fell 18-4 to Redlands Friday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Season Impact: The loss drops the Sagehens' record to 6-3 on the season, including 3-1 in SCIAC play.
Jack Gold led Pomona-Pitzer offensively with a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth, while
William Kinney added an RBI in the second.
Max Brunngraber (3-1) was credited with the loss despite striking out three in four innings of work.
The Bulldogs came out of the gates quick, scoring four runs in the first frame. Kinney posted his RBI in the bottom of the second, securing a sac fly to right field to score Gold and bring the score to 4-1. But Redlands added four runs in the fourth to take an 8-1 lead.
Gold brought the Sagehens back within striking distance in the fifth, blasting a three-run homerun to right center field to make it 8-4 Bulldogs. But Redlands sealed the game after a 10-run sixth inning, going on to win 18-4.
Up Next: The Sagehens will take on the Bulldogs in a doubleheader tomorrow, Saturday, Mar. 1, on the road. First pitch for the first game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. PT.
