FULLERTON, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team fell to Division I opponent Cal State Fullerton 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Titan Courts.
The Sagehens started by dropping two of the three doubles matches to give the Titans the doubles point.
Angie Zhou and
Marissa Markey fell at the No. 1 spot, 6-2 while
Lauren Rha and Annique Vardy fell in their match 6-0. The final doubles was left unfinished with
Nyakiriri Kanefu and
Amelia Poor trailing 5-3.
Fullerton went on to take the first three singles matches to clinch with wins at No. 2, 5 and 6. Kanefu fell at the No. 2 spot 6-3, 6-45 with Varty losing her match at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2 and
Sofia Kalyva falling 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.
